The San Diego Boot Camp offers 60 minute full body conditioning fitness classes at Mission Bay Park. John Sims and his trainers have brought the best of their talents into a single boot camp style class. It’s intense, it’s efficient, and it gets results fast!
Our class incorporates full body muscular strengthening, cardiovascular endurance, specific core strengthening exercises, balance/ agility drills and a no nonsense approach for those who want results now. We are constantly changing your workout to ensure your body continues to respond positively and to prevent your training from getting stale.
Some of the tools of the trade we use are:

- Dumbbells
- Jump Ropes
- Sand Bags
- Agility Ladders
- Hurdles
- Baseball Bats
Each class you can expect a 5 minute full body warm up. This prepares your body for what is about to come. Then we lead you through 24 exercise stations done in a circuit for roughly a minute each. This phase takes about 45 minutes to perform and is very intense. Finally we spend about 10 minutes at the end focusing on stretching.
When performed three times a week, The San Diego Boot Camp is all you need to do to stay fit. For those with a busy schedule who value their health, The San Diego Boot Camp is the perfect way to make sure you’re getting maximum results in minimum time.
Boot Camp Training Programs:
Beginner:
This program is designed for those who have very little exercise history and need to learn the fundamentals. This is our basic training session. In this program we include mastering body weight exercises, mini bands, jump ropes, core stability exercises and finish with a total body stretch/flexibility cool down period.
Intermediate:
This program is designed for those who are exercising regularly and need to turn it up a notch. In this program we take all of our basic training components and heat things up! We include kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, battling ropes, speed and agility drills, sled pulls, resistance bands and partner drills in this session.
Advanced:
This program takes it to the next level! All of the beginner and intermediate components are included. We also add superbands, the obstacle course, plyometrics, sled drives, acceleration and deceleration drills and shorter rest intervals. Not for the faint of heart!
Expert:
We pull out all the stops for this one! Sledge hammers, stair runs, pull ups, stair jumps, wall jumps, wall vaults, partner body weight drills, tire flips and hill work are all part of the program. The Tuesday session is held at the park and the Thursday session is held at World Gym on Garnet Ave. A $10 daily gym pass is required for Thursday’s session.
Fit in 45:
For you busy parents and professionals, this is our 45 minute fat blaster program. We target all the major areas of complaint; abs, arms and glutes! We use interval training coupled with area specific exercises to maximize time and results.
Weekly Schedule:
- Intermediate Class: MWF 7:30-8:30am
- Advanced class: MWF 6:15-7:15am
- Fit in 45: MWF 8:30-9:15am
