FAQ

What fitness level do I need to have before I begin boot camp?

- This class is designed so that all fitness levels can participate. It is up to you how hard or fast you go. The class keeps moving through different stations once we begin. So if you are not ready for the next station, just take a break and join back in when you are ready. That being said you do need to have the basic physical ability to jog, get up and down from the floor and perform general body weight exercises. Also this class is NOT for anyone with a pre-existing health condition that would prevent you from participating in an intense exercise program. If you're not sure, check with your doctor first.

Will I receive personal attention or just be lost in the crowd?

- What sets The San Diego Boot Camp apart from our competitors is that you work with 2 Personal Trainers at once. So while one of us is instructing the group the other one is attending to each person to make sure you are doing each exercise with proper form and getting the individual attnetion you need to insure your success.

Will I get dirty?

- The worst it gets is putting your hands on grass. After all, it is Boot Camp.

How long does my membership last?

- Your membership will last either 1 month or 3 months from your start date depending on what membership you buy. Everyone gets their first class free so your start date would be the day of your second class. The free class only applies to new sign ups and each person only gets one per lifetime.

Can I put my membership on hold if I am sick? What if I am traveling for work or vacation?

-Your membership lasts one month and any missed workouts due to illness are not subject to membership extension. If you are going to be traveling and know which dates you will miss in advance, you may put your membership on hold for those date. YOU MUST TELL US WHICH DATES YOU WILL MISS WHEN YOU PAY AND YOUR EXPIRATION DATE WILL BE DETERMINED AT THAT TIME.

What happens if it rains?

-In the case of rain we will cancel class for the day and your membership will be extended one workout for every day canceled that month.

Will I be yelled at?

No. We don't believe in yelling at or belittling our boot campers. We keep it fun and light hearted while getting maximum effort from you. We want you to get the results you're after and have a good time while doing it. If you are looking for Marine Corps drill instructors we probably aren't the best choice for you.

What do I need to bring?

- You should bring a bottle of water, a towel, and a good attitude. We supply all of the equipment you will need. During the winter months, we suggest you plan for cold weather since we are outside and exercising early in the day. Bring layers so you can put them on or take them off as needed. We supply gloves but bringing a warm hat and jacket / sweatshirt is a good idea.

How long will it take me to see results?

- Everyone is different. The rate of your results will depend on your initial fitness level, your nutritional intake and the amount of rest you get. That being said you should notice your ability to perform the Boot Camp exercises improve by your third or fourth class. You should definitely notice a marked improvement in muscle tone by the end of your first month. The weight on the scale may not change much initially but this is common and due to the fact that you are shedding body fat while building muscle. This is a good thing.

I don't want to build big muscles. Will this happen?

- No. We use body weight exercises and light to moderate weights on particular stations. This class is designed to challenge your cardiovascular system and tone and shape your entire body. If you are looking for a bodybuilding routine both trainers provide personal training held at a different location for a separate fee.

What if I can't perform a particular exercise the class is doing?

-If you have a limitation or if a particular exercise is bothering you, let us know. We are always happy to give you an alternative. We don't want you getting hurt. Always listen to your body.

What if I'm looking for an easy routine that doesn't challenge me and provides no results?

- Don't sign up for The San Diego Boot Camp.
